Microsoft has been expecting to remove the ¡§Digital Divide¡¨ by working side by side with Taiwanese manufacturers to make all of the creativities compatible and expandable through Windows Platform. In a life without walls, the communication and development between people will no longer be constrained by external conditions. Therefore, starting from this year, a new hardware engineering award ¡V WinHEC Award has been designed specifically for the hardware industry in Taiwan.
Taiwan has been well-known for its efficient hardware R&D capability. It is hence an important partner to Microsoft. The WinHEC Award, designed to inspire innovations, comprises of five award categories: ¡¨Green¡¨, ¡§Media & Entertainment¡¨, ¡§Internet¡¨, ¡§Innovation¡¨, and ¡§Industrial Design¡¨. The top contestants will not only receive high prize, but also win the recognition of the world through the abundant media exposures and joint marketing activities provided by Microsoft.
