Microsoft WinHEC Awards target Taiwan-made products

Microsoft, for the first time, offers WinHEC (Windows Hardware Engineering Conference) Awards in five categories for competition by Taiwan-based producers and/or vendors of Windows-enabled hardware products, and seven companies won 10 awards, according to Microsoft Taiwan press release on December 2.

The award is to promote R&D innovation amid Taiwan-based makers/vendors of hardware devices supporting Windows, Microsoft Taiwan pointed out. There were 110 product items presented for the competition and 25 ones offered by 17 companies were selected as the finalists, Microsoft Taiwan indicated.
