Mr. Bernard Swiecki Director, Market Analysis Center for Automotive Research (CAR)

Background
Bernard Swiecki serves as Director of Market Analysis at the Center for Automotive Research (CAR). He joined CAR in 1994.
Mr. Swiecki has written and managed research in a diverse array of automotive fields pertaining to automakers, suppliers, electric and alternative powertrain vehicles, as well a variety of other subjects. He manages CAR's analysis of vehicle sales, production, and segmentation data. He has also led trade missions to China, Italy, India, and Russia.
Mr. Swiecki has authored numerous articles for print publications, as well as a monthly column, on the automotive industry. He regularly presents at conferences and industry events in North America, Asia, and Europe as well as providing interviews to local, national, and global media.
Mr. Swiecki is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA). Since 2009 he has been a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce Eastern Michigan District Export Council and also serves on the Advisory Panel of the Detroit Chinese Business Association, as well as recently joining the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Innovation Advisory Committee. He received his BA from the University of Michigan in 1998 and his MS from Eastern Michigan University in 2003.



Dr Colin Herron
Managing Director, Zero Carbon Futures

Background
Colin began his engineering career as an apprentice tool maker in 1973 starting a 37 year association with the automotive industry. In 1987, he commenced a 17 year employment with Nissan in Sunderland, culminating in a two-year secondment to One North East the Regional Development Agency (RDA) for the North East of England. Colin went on to head up the Low Carbon Specialist Team at One North East.
Colin has recently been appointed as Managing Director of Zero Carbon Futures, the company currently leading on the development of the LCV sector in North East England. Colin has recently led on a successful Regional Growth Fund bid which has seen an additional £6.2 million brought into the region for the development of the sector. He has responsibility for a range of areas including:
•Skills development and apprenticeships in the LCV sector through Gateshead College's Skills Academy for Sustainable Manufacturing and Innovation
•installing an electric infrastructure into the North East of England, currently the most developed charging network in the UK
•developing a strategy for hydrogen vehicles and associate infrastructure
•developing The Performance Track for the testing and trialling of Low Carbon Vehicles
•developing battery second life technology
•integrating EV into the future smart home
working with UK government on LCV strategy

Jonny Dong is the technical manager at Interek for EV battery, automotive reliability and material test service in Great China Region. He is responsible for the lab setup, technical development and operation of Intertek's new EV battery lab in Shanghai.

Mr. Didier Marginedes
General Manager, BatScap

Background
Didier Marginedes is graduated from « Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité » in 1978, he has a Master of Sciences from Berkeley University (USA) obtained in 1979 and an Executive MBA from INSEAD (1989).
After a first experience within Aerospatiale, he joined Schlumberger (81-86) to lead the development of signal processing for logging tools. He then worked for Air Liquide (86-95) where he was in charge of the development of energy-related businesses and of strategic marketing. In 1995, he joined Bolloré as R&D Director where he managed the development strategy including competitive analysis and new products development. In 2001, Didier Marginedes added the function of General Manager of a new subsidiary of Bolloré group: Batscap whose objectives are the development and sales of energy storage products such as batteries and supercapacitors. These products are mainly dedicated to clean energy transportation markets such as Electric Vehicle (Bluecar), electric bus (microbus), hybrid vehicles and clean tram system with energy recovery. He is chairman of Gruau Microbus and in charge of Autolib developments and of all the developments of solutions of Energy Storage optimization as chairman of Bolloré Blue Solution.



Dr. Dusan Graovac
Head of Automotive System Engineering, Infineon Technologies

Background
After finishing University, Dr. Graovac started his professional career in teaching and research at Chair for Power Electronics, Institute for Power- and Electronics Engineering, University of Novi Sad, Serbia in 1995, where his focus was on grid connected power electronics and electric drives. Early 2001. he moved to Germany, where for 5 years he was Research & Development head for Tier 1 companies in power electronics applications like electric motor drives, railway, automotive, airborne systems and superconductors (Baldor Motors and Drives, Atena-MTU, Transtechnik GmbH & Co KG). Graovac joined Infineon Technologies beginning of 2006. First 3.5 years he spent as Principal Engineer for Automotive Application Engineering. Next station of his professional life was Head of Product Marketing for business line Electric Drive Train, Automotive, with global marketing responsibility for Infineon's power products for Hybrid- and Electric Vehicles. Beginning 2013. he was appointed as Head of System Engineering for Automotive Division of Infineon Technologies AG.
Born 1969. in Novi Sad, Serbia, Dr. Graovac received his PhD, from University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He is IEEE Senior Member and has published over 80 scientific and marketing papers and holds several patents.
